Kara is intelligent however she hides it well, as she doesn’t talk about her education or her life in Chicago. Her family have always treated her like she is the senseless black sheep for not wanting their life.

Kara doesn’t feel easy when any attention is on her. She may come from a “well to do” family, however she has a desire to stand on her own two feet. Which is why she left home after college and hasn’t stopped “running”.

Kara downplays her life (hence working in Bars as a bartender), She doesn’t throw money around because she doesn’t have any. She refuses to use anything with the “family” name attached to it. Unlike her sister Tessa who loves living the life of trust funds and luxury.

Kara has been known to be Nomadic, never staying in one place long. Never building any relationships, never allowing anyone in. However, for some reason she has come around to making friends in NYC.

Kara takes after her father; he was a strong-willed man with enough self-respect not to be dragged into the Bokan world. When Diana tried to change him, he stepped away. But kept close to Kara. Tessa on the other hand wanted nothing to do with him as she took after her mother and craved the high life.

Kara’s Achilles heel is her grandmother (CeCee). Her grandmother was married into the money, and she respected Kara’s dad for taking a stand and not bowing down to the family. She always told Kara to be free minded and to live her life. Even if grandmother would like Kara to be close, she knows Kara has to be alone.

Kara’s family are old money from Chicago. However, her stepfather Erik Johnson may have come from money too, it wasn’t as much as the Bokan family. His past is covered in darkness and questions, darkness he brought with him into Kara’s family. Erik has ties to some shady people in Chicago. He is known to be a man who can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble.

Breaking Kara
The Story So Far

Diana and Erik had gotten in a little too deep with his old “friends” in the Chicago mob, to the point where the trouble found and followed Kara to NYC. She was kidnapped and held hostage, tortured because her mother wouldn’t pay and handover what the Mob wanted.

Diana hired a Hit Man (Ansel) to bring Kara back home, but he was too late. Kara was taken from in front of him. And by the time he found her she was a broken girl.

Ansel stayed with Kara with his team trying to help her longer than he would normally. She was one person who was unlike any of the other “Spoiled Rich Kids” he was made to work for. Seeing her the way she was when he found her, made him fill up with guilt and he tried to help as much as he could.

However, Diana believing Kara was killed didn’t pay Ansel. So, Kara made him leave to go after Diana and his money, with the promise that Kara will allow her grandmother to hire a bodyguard to keep Kara safe and help her get out into the world again and leave the darkness of her trauma behind her.

Kara is no longer the free spirit she once was, lost in her mind and a shell of the girl who once lived in her body.

What Next

CeCee has hired someone Kara has never met, never seen and doesn't know.

However, Kara has faith her grandmother will do right by her.

Will Kara let this person into her broken life to look out for her and try to protect her?

Only time will tell.
